el undécimo soneto de marionetas

All the sonnets were written after observation of the marionette, research of the colours used, knowledge of Mexican history (some of which I knew and some I learned during their writing) and application of my imagination. This is the penultimate puppet poem.

Man with a sombrero and a rifle
Symbolizing martyrs wears azur pants
He is not a man with whom to trifle
Guerrero defending against tyrants
 
Name a revolution in the last two
Hundred years successful as the Mexican
Lenin’s or Stalin’s or Ho Chi Min’s? Who?
Somehow Mao? Not even in the lexicon
 
Be symbolic
Be strategic
Be organized
And you will be a real Revolutionary
 
Lenin would say ‘be ruthless’ as well.
History says ‘you’re truthless go to hell”
