If the state tourism's cifras alegres are accurate, Ixtapa has plenty of tourists right now, something close to 70% full, but we sure aren't seeing many of them in Zihuatanejo. I suspect we're still getting people who would normally have visited Acapulco. Let's hope they like what they see here, except they don't appear to be getting out of their all-included hotels much.

The few people who visited Playa Principal today were again enjoying swimming. The water is barely muddied from the rains, but I still have concerns about what's washing out from the lagoon with the current dredging going on. Fortunately, the prevailing current is in our favor, but one good storm could change everything. We've only had one moderately strong rain so far, but it was relatively brief. But more are on the way. Tropical wave #4 is about to pass by, and it could bring some good rains, though no intense rains are currently in the forecast for our region.
