I've heard of broken branches, trees down and rooftops losing their láminas from the strong winds that hit our region of the Costa Grande this afternoon. The weather had looked menacing all morning, but it had only sprinkled sporadically and the breezes had been relatively light. There had been no hint that such a strong wind would come seemingly out of nowhere. Really caught everyone off guard. I don't even want to think of what it was like to be in a small vessel off our coast fishing.

Our city and state tourism eggheads says we should expect around 70,000 visitors for the long holiday weekend. I'm expecting drunks with fireworks, same as every weekend of El Grito de la Independencia. The forecast calls for a high probability of rain as usual for this event. ¡Viva!

Even with stormy weather, Zihuatanejo is a beautiful place. The natural beauty that hasn't yet been urbanized, plowed down for condos or paved over with the mayor's cement remains breathtaking and to be appreciated. It adds a bit of excitement and gives us an excuse to celebrate life even more. As my wife likes to say: "Hoy es hoy, y mañana no existe." She's a smart cookie.

Six luxurious bungalow suites with A/C, cable TV, Internet connection, kitchenettes, and garden terraces with living and dining areas. An absolutely perfect place for relaxing and losing track of time.

Una zona de aire tropical inestable produjo grandes tormentas en la Costa Grande de Guerrero incluyendo la bahía de Zihuatanejo, pero tiene su belleza.
