It looked like it was going to rain Wednesday night with thunderstorms right off the coast, but the rain never reached downtown Zihuatanejo. We awoke to a cloudy morning, but it quickly burned off, and it turned into another beautiful day with the water in the bay so calm you could've gone water-skiing.
There were no people around for most of the day (and no sales to speak of at most shops), but later in the afternoon there were several groups of visitors swimming in the glass-calm bay. Today was the first time we've ever walked past La Porteña restaurant in the evening and seen no one there besides the workers.
A chance of rain in tonight's forecast. Otherwise, nothing until early next week. We need the rain.
A favorite location for many visitors, Amor del Sol located overlooking Playa La Madera is an extremely comfortable and nicely appointed condominium that offers from 1 to 3 bedrooms (only pay for what you need!). The complex has a pool, but the ocean at La Madera is often calm enough for easy swimming.
