Clarifying Different types Notary Services

NO, I just need my SIGNATURE notarized
NOT the document.
Again: The purpose is just to validate that it was me who signed the paper.
It has Nothing to do with the particular Document,
just that it was myself who signed it.
Y punto.

But that's not how a notary service works.

THEY have to understand the document as well as your signature.

EXCERPT FROM POST BY Little Guy--->

We might be discussing different types of notarizing documents for different purposes.

I was an authorized person for a period of time and did many such certifications by simply taking the original, photocopying it myself, and certifying that it was a true and correct copy of the original”. I was not attesting to the truth of anything in the document or the accuracy of the original document. I was only certifying that the copy was the same as the original.

I also had to certify signatures.

Again, I wasn’t attesting to the accuracy or truthfulness of the content of the document. I was only certifying that I witnessed the document being signed by the person. (I also had to ensure that the person “signing” was the person who was writing their name. Often I had long-standing relationship with the person. Otherwise I had to check multiple pieces of identification.)

It sounds like @jaui is seeking the signature witnessed and certified, not the latter, (a certified true and correct translation)."
