We awoke to a slightly overcast morning in Zihuatanejo, and as the day wore on the temperatures remained relatively mild compared to previous days. There was a nice breeze this evening that promises a pleasant and comfortable night of sleeping weather to the sound of gentle small waves. The forecast says there's a slight chance of scattered showers, but the sky looks mostly clear at the moment. There's a better chance of rain this weekend and early next week. We could sure use it!

A few tourists showed up this morning that looked like the arrived by bus since they were dragging their suitcases along the sidewalk. But there still really isn't much tourism to speak of except the noticeable presence of more people from up north, mostly Canadians we believe. Saw some familiar faces while walking my dog this morning. I know many local restaurants and wandering vendors are sure glad to see the return of our friends from the great north, especially those in La Madera.

Be sure to come to Plaza del Artista this Friday evening to enjoy the danzón dancers and their music. I encourage folks to watch them for a while to see their style, then feel free to participate. They are a very friendly group of beautiful older locals who dress up and keep this wonderful old Zihuatanejo tradition alive. A lovely way to start Friday evening.
