Saturday night's rain lasted most of the night making for great sleeping weather as long as you weren't near a noisy bar or boombox cars which remained unaffected by the rain. I was also surprised how many people stayed out walking in it well into the wee hours. When the sun rose Sunday there wasn't a cloud to be seen. Nothing but a huge moon sinking into the western horizon.

The rain washed away a lot of dust and smells and made for a magnificent morning. The sun seemed to rise faster and brighter than usual, and by 8 o'clock I was drenched in sweat after doing some morning chores.

Throngs of visitors were on the downtown beach as well as the several thousand that went to the high-priced restaurants at Playa Las Gatas. Tourists were still returning by the boatload at 7 P.M. The families that own those beachfront restaurants have to be among the wealthiest in the region after the politicians and the narcos.

So even though none of the local media have reported it even though everyone is asking, students and their families are informed that the local desfile for Día de la Revolución Mexicana will be on Wednesday morning, el día 20 de Noviembre. If you get to Café Caracol (next to Plaza del Artista) when it opens you can get a good street-side table on their balcony to enjoy the parade at 8 A.M.

Folk dancers have been dancing for change in Plaza del Artista these past few Sunday evenings. Sometimes they move to different parts of the waterfront. Be sure to give them a nice tip, and I also recommend hiring one of the local "tríos" (even though most are only duos) such as Los Hermanos Morelos. They play a wonderful rendition of "Zihuatanejo".
