Another cool refreshing morning greeted Zihuatanejo's residents and visitors this Tuesday. A change is in the air. Unfortunately, it means probably no more rain until next June.
While the ocean remains extremely calm, the tides have been extremely low lately, so it looks like there's more beach than normal.
I continue seeing signs of overnight turtle hatchings, so wherever you are on the beach, be aware that there may be a nest under you or nearby. I'm hoping the city ends the beach soccer on Playa Principal and removes the fencing soon, because I know besides the one that hatched a few days ago, there are at least two more nests under where they're playing.
The tourist numbers still seem low. Usually there are a lot more Gringos here at this time of year, and I keep hearing of unexpected cancellations, though I don't know their nationalities.
I haven't heard any skyrockets going off. Hopefully the Guadalupanos will respect the call by our mayor Liz Tapia not to use explosives this year. That would indeed be nice. More people than ever seem to have pets.
On the hillside between Playa La Ropa and Playa Las Gatas, Casa Westie offers a relaxing stress-free comfort zone for your vacation. A two-bedroom top-floor apartment with a large open-air living-area terrace with stunning views surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Located in the Cerro del Vigía gated community with 24-hour security.
