Muchas ExploZIHones
After almost no cuetes for the past several days, it seemed like tonight everyone was lighting them off. Ruined our dog-walking plans. Bummer. A shame we can't seem to have any city ordinances banning them. Oh wait, we could, it just takes a willing politician, like a mayor.
Saturday night was a night with lots of gritos de ¡GOOOOOL! when Monterrey scored 5 to 1 against San Luís in the semifinals. This Sunday night it's the final match between América and Cruz Azul. Mexican fútbol fans are all hoping for a game as good as last nights.
Sunday morning was nipper out, like someone had left the A/C running all night. Felt refreshing, but the sun warmed things up quickly.
Also, Sunday night the power went out downtown several times. We have one of those old-fashioned electric clocks that needs to be reset after a power failure, but oddly it was only off by a minute this morning because of the timing of the last power failure.
Lots of tourists were here this morning, but they all seem to have disappeared this evening. Hardly anyone on the streets or the waterfront walkway. All watching the big match?
If you enjoy spectacular views and balmy breezes, you'll LOVE La Casa Roja on Cerro El Almacén with two comfortable suites. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms with a king-size and twin beds, full kitchen, private bath, and 2 terraces. The lower level also has 2 bedrooms with a king-size and twin beds, full kitchen, 2 baths, and a terrace. A peaceful place within easy walking distance of downtown and nearby restaurants.
