One after the other, refreshing mornings, sunny days, starry nights. But again, it sure seems slow for this time of year. The streets aren't packed with cars. No crowds on the sidewalks or in the restaurants. Many locals are getting anxious about the coming week. If we simply fill up with the bus crowds, it's going to be an extremely poor season for local shop owners.

Unfortunately, this Tuesday was another evening of explosives in downtown Zihuatanejo, much to the chagrin of every one of our neighbors that we spoke with. When you live where shootouts occur, explosives are no longer entertaining. Not sure why some people refuse to respect the local sentiment on this. Tradition? We have a new tradition called respecting others. We're no longer a nation of rural villages who need to announce the arrival of groups of Guadalupanos to local churches with loud explosives. I like the groups that use musicians to announce their arrival. Those are the best. Only two more days to go.

This Wednesday night around 11 P.M. be sure to tune in to watch Mexico pay its respects to the image of Guadalupe at the Basílica de Guadalupe in Tepeyác. The grand finale is midnight when everyone sings Las Mañanitas.
