Las Últimas Días de las VacaZIHones
We enjoyed another Saturday of perfect weather with a cool clear sky in the morning turning into a perfect beach day.
Though the numbers of vacationers has dropped off, the beaches and streets remain full, and our evening walk along the waterfront still found us walking among a sea of humanity, most of them returning from a day at Playa Las Gatas. The smiles on their faces say it all.
I noticed black smoke from a fire this Saturday around noon in La Ropa. Does anyone know what happened? I hope everyone is okay.
Don't forget that this coming Monday is Día de los Reyes Santos. It's traditionally the day for giving presents, especially to children. You'll want to put in an order for your Rosca de Reyes at your favorite local bakery to assure having one. PLEASE BUY LOCAL, and not at the big supermarkets.
School starts up next Wednesday, so this will be the last big Christmas vacation weekend. Then we should start to notice the arrival of more people from the USA and Canada. Something most local businesses are looking forward to.
Imagine waking up here in the mornings, at one of the bungalows at Casa Ki on the beach in Troncones, a peaceful remote tropical village on the warm and friendly southern coast of Mexico: a place where natural beauty still rules and times seems to slow down and stretch out at the same time. A place where stress simply doesn't factor into one's daily routine.

Así lució Playa Principal este sábado al mediodía en la bahía de Zihuatanejo. Ya no está abarrotada como ha sido desde antes de la Navidad.
