Peso to the Canadian $...... and the airport colectivo

Used the Banorte ATM yesterday on Benito Juarez….. it let me get 20,000 pesos…… declined the first offered exchange rate….. plus the 58 peso fee….. checked bank today and it looks like it was 13.73 peso to the Canadian Dollar. Much different then the XE app of 14.35 but never expected to get their rate at an ATM

I got 13.8 yesterday, and again today, at Scotiabank. xe.com posts the mid-market rate. Over the years, I've found that Scotiabank will give me between 2.5 and 3% LESS than the current xe.com rate. 13.73 is quite a bite, but my 13.8 is only a tad less painful.

On another matter, we arrived yesterday, expecting to take the airport colectivo, as we have for the last 20+ years, but were surprised to be told that colectivo passengers are limited to 1 suitcase each. We had 2 each, as we always do. So, it was a 475 peso taxi instead of the 380 peso colectivo. No big deal, but it sure smells like a sop to the taxistas.
