We all seem to have our own Epiphanies...

I grew up in a town of 500 people. Doors unlocked, keys left in cars.

In 1967, in the middle of the night, my neighbour's car was pushed off his driveway onto the street and driven away. Mine was spared. That was the last time my keys were left in the car.

Didn't change the doors unlocked habit though. That happened in 1977 when a drunk young man stumbled into our house at 2 AM, lay down on the living room carpet and fell asleep.
