Una Naturaleza para ApreZIHar
Long before sunrise there were people on the downtown beach this Sunday morning, some in the water, others nursing beverages, all enjoying the morning magic in Zihuatanejo's bay. What a privilege to wake up here and have all this natural beautiful right outside our door.
I can't help but try to pick up some of the plastic I encounter on the beach. It's such a shame to see this problem only get worse instead of better year after year. This morning it was mostly pieces of balloons from Valentine's Day, bottle tops and 6-pack holders, and lots of unidentifiable little plastic pieces. Some of it washes out of the ocean, the rest is what visitors leave even though there are numerous waste receptacles up and down the waterfront walkway. Besides upbringing, the problem is no one is ever fined for littering here. That would be a starting place if the local government were ever to be more serious about protecting the environment than pouring cement.
Lots of visitors have been enjoying our downtown beach today. It's great to see all the families, especially the kids, having such a good time. Many discovering the ocean for the first time, thrilled to be here on vacation, even if it's only for a day or 2. The happy faces say it all, and that's what Zihuatanejo's all about!
Tucked away on the northern side of Marina Ixtapa in a very peaceful and secure part of Ixtapa are some extremely comfortable vacation condos. Ixtapa Paqus Properties offers luxurious vacation rental properties in an exclusive residential area with panoramic ocean views and access to pools, beach club, tennis and golf.
