The waves from the mar de fondo washed completely up onto the cement along the downtown waterfront last night, making extra work for the sweepers. The waves continue washing high up on the beaches as well as the piers, keeping the pier at Playa Linda closed.

Did anyone participate in the Simulacro Nacional this morning? If you hustled yourself outside, ya did good! ;-)

This Wednesday is Día del Niño, a big day for families to celebrate with their children.

And then Thursday is Día del Trabajador. There will be a parade downtown at 8:00 A.M., and it's an official holiday, so the banks will be closed.

We expect a surge in tourism due to the long holiday weekend along with the 3-day Torneo de Pez Vela that starts this Friday. This Tuesday evening workers were already setting up a stage at the pier for the musical events. The waves are so big that even Zihuatanejo's pier is barely usable, so I expect it could cause some problems for both tourists going to Las Gatas and fishermen in the tournament.

[image]Villas Troncones on Troncones Beach is a lovely lodging away from the crowds with the beach out your front door and where the night sky can still be appreciated. Ten villas featuring from 1 to 5 bedrooms surrounding a pool. All villas have ceiling fans, A/C and kitchens. Meals are available prepared on property. Located within easy walking distance of other restaurants, convenience stores and the village.
