The parade for Día de los Trabajadores seemed to be the shortest we've ever had. It was all over in about half an hour. Hardly worth all the fuss, moving cars, painting, and street cleaning. Our favorite part is always the mariachis who didn't disappoint and who put on a good show for the few spectators who were along the parade route.

The humidity is creeping up as the hurricane season and the rains get nearer. Our Pacific Hurricane Season officially starts two weeks from now. Canal La Boquita is in terrible shape with broken walls all up and down it's course. The mouth of the canal is currently closed by a sand bar, though water from the mar de fondo events keeps washing into it, and of course a few jerks continue throwing their trash in it, so it looks green and nasty and could use a good cleaning. Something I'm surprised the municipal government has waited this late to do, though I'm sure they'll get to it. The question is will they finish before the first rains flush all that crap into the bay. So enjoy the final days of being able to swim in a clean and pristine bay. Once the rains start, it's usually never quite as clear as it currently is until the rainy season ends.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the event organizers for the Cena del Torneo Anual de Pez Vela for leaving a corridor open for users of the pier so we didn't have to take the dangerous and smelly walkway behind the offices of the Capitanía tonight during our stroll!

Today was one of our typical picture-postcard-perfect days. Beachgoers were enjoying themselves, and the ocean remained calm all day. No sign of the mar de fondo. But the Sector Naval predicts it will manifest itself again this Friday. Hopefully it won't affect the Torneo, which starts at 8:00 A.M. this Friday, and 7:00 A.M. the following 2 days.
