Seguimos Sala'o y ZIHn Lluvia
It's absolutely amazing that a storm that brought torrential rains from Ometepec to Apatzingán barely left a few drops of rain on us once again. This is what happened last year, too. The storms keep seeming to pass us by with too much frequency. This kind of bad luck is what we call "sala'o", a local pronunciation of the word "salado", which in slang means "jinxed" or "unlucky". Forecasts show we have a good chance of receiving rain for the next several days, so I guess we'll soon find out just how sala'o we are. We sure could use some rain, just not torrential.
My wife and I are both battling whatever the stranger who sneezed in my face decided to share with us. I'm feeling better but she's still got the rough part to go through. Bummer. Thank goodness for modern medicine, citrus juice, and a comfortable bed.
Another mar de fondo event is predicted to begin hitting our coast this Friday. Our coast could suffer some erosion from the added effects of the passing storm. Always keep an eye on the waves when you go swimming and watch out for riptides.
Still hardly any visitors around. These are usually the quietest days of the year, and they would be if it weren't for the daily murders that our municipal government appears to be trying to ignore. This Thursday morning the owner of a tortilla business in Agua de Correa was murdered in broad daylight front of his customers. It appears our municipal government doesn't care that people are being killed for not paying extortionists. Our state legislature is also wondering why municipal governments such as our seem to be ignoring their duty to provide public security, not just for politicians and VIPs. Good question.
We have an election for the judges and ministers that make up our judiciary this coming Sunday. I expect an extremely low turnout because of the complexity of the voting and the lack of information about the candidates. However, usually an election day also means no alcohol sales, but I expect everyone will be happy to know that the Gobernadora de Guerrero decided not to implement the ley seca in order to "help with Acapulco's recovery". Sure. Works for me. Any excuse'll do.

Después de una mañana nublada, salió el sol y casi no hay ninguna evidencia de la tormenta tropical "Alvin" en frente de nuestra costa.
