Se AproxZIHma Huracán Erick
Huracán Erick is currently a cat 3 and could continue to intensify before hitting the Costa Chica of Guerrero this Thursday. It's currently raining steadily but not torrentially in Zihuatanejo. We expect the rain to continue off and on as Erick moves inland and up into the sierra of Guerrero where it will lose force. Zihuatanejo and the region will likely see some gusting winds, but nothing serious. However, the rain and wind could cause some rockslides and blow over some trees.

The water taxis to Isla Ixtapa are likely not to be running for the next 2 or 3 days due to high waves, though I've seen no mention in any of the alerts emitted by the local government. Of course, if it's raining no one is likely to want to go there anyway (though I would if I still had a boat). Now's a good time to stay off the roads since there will be lots of standing water.
We're not likely to see any tourism for another week or so until the storm passes and the road damage is assessed. I expect we may lose touch with Acapulco again, since repairs to bridges still haven't been completed from the damage from Huracán John last year.
