The rains and passing storms bring mild days and cool evenings. Together with the sound of the waves, it makes sleeping a costeño's delight. I'm totally spoiled living here with the local rhythms. Whenever I've traveled anywhere else, the things I miss are the sound of the waves in our bay, and the comforting fragrance of our part of the Costa Grande.

Another zone of tropical disturbance is growing in the Pacific to our south, but it doesn't appear to be coming as close to our coast as the last storm, so I expect we'll be fortunate to even get any rain from it.

Looks like we might get some rain this Wednesday night.

The Danzón dancers were lovely tonight, but the bright colored LED lights that the municipal government sets up for the "show" ruin it. They blind folks, especially people with cataracts or other vision problems. I think it was always much more enjoyable when the dancers brought their own speaker and music, before the municipal government got involved with big blaring speakers, an emcee and blinding bright lights.

Lobster is OUT OF SEASON from July 1 until October 30. Please don't order it or accept it at any local restaurant.

Mexico's selección nacional is in the semifinals for the Concacaf Copa de Oro, and this evening they play Honduras. Expect locals to be glued to televisions, and hopefully giving shouts of ¡GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!
