Esperando los ViZIHtantes

We enjoyed another beautiful day in Zihuatanejo. A partly cloudy sunrise kept the temperatures down in the morning, but then the sky cleared and it was a perfect day for the beach. A shame there are hardly any visitors here. The ones who visited over the weekend apparently departed. There were almost no people in the streets other than locals this Monday, and the downtown beach remained mostly empty all day. The waterfront restaurants were mostly empty this evening when we strolled past them. The Paseo del Pescador was also mostly empty, with just a few folks watching a basketball game. We did see some members of the Guardia Nacional who appeared to be new arrivals exploring the waterfront and enjoying the sights and sounds. Good to see them here! Now all we need are some visitors.

Man, I could sure get used to the mango licuados we've been enjoying for breakfast these past couple of months. What a privilege to live in Guerrero where we enjoy some of the best mangos in the world along with the rest of our delicious fresh fruit from the region.

The ocean has calmed down. There doesn't appear to be any mar de fondo event, though another one is expected this Tuesday. Since it hasn't rained for several days the water in the bay is clear again and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Amazingly the water temp remains just under 30°C, not too warm at all, and it shouldn't spawn any super-hurricanes.

Truly one of the loveliest vacation lodgings at La Ropa and one of my favorite properties to promote is Villa Zanzibar, a charming 3-bedroom private villa tucked away in the old original La Ropa community at the southern end of the beach a short easy walk up from the waterfront. Located in one of the most peaceful areas of our community, this is a place to feel relaxed and at home.
