Cloudy skies most of the day helped keep the temps down, but not by much. Though there was a chance of rain in the forecast, it never materialized. But the chance increases this Saturday and Sunday. We could sure use it. While the heat from La Canícula continues, be sure to stay hydrated and not to overexert yourself. I recommend doing as little as possible outdoors when it's hot like this. Swinging in a hammock is acceptable exercise. ;-)

More affluent visitors seemed to show up today. Waterfront and downtown restaurants were busy, and lots of smartly dressed people were out'n'about. Hopefully merchants will enjoy more sales over the coming days, especially if the rain keeps people from the beaches.

Come enjoy the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" this Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. across the street from the downtown archaeological museum by the canal. There is something for everyone, from delicious fresh coffee to mezcal, from home-baked pastries to fresh produce. Chocolate and cacao will be one of the special topics, and I expect there will be some excellent chocolate treats available.
