:warning: :waterwave: A tsunami warning was issued this Tuesday evening for the Pacific Coast of Mexico advising that beginning around 2:00 A.M. in the Baja region this Wednesday the Pacific Coast of Mexico will start experiencing effects of the tsunami generated by the Kamchatka earthquake, with ocean level variations along our coast expected to be around 1 meter and possible dangerous currents in bays and ports, but we shouldn't see any effects in Zihuatanejo until around 5:00 A.M. or so. Places where it will be most noticeable are the footbridge over the entrance to Las Salinas lagoon, both ends of Playa Las Gatas, and the channel entrance to Marina Ixtapa.

The port captain has closed Zihuatanejo Bay to navigation by all vessels as a precaution.

I posted some maps and details on my Facebook, Threads and BlueSky pages.

Tuesday was another warm day, but a light breeze helped keep beachgoers comfortable, though there weren't near as many as during the past weekend. Some folks were enjoying the evening air along the waterfront earlier this evening, with a few still on the beach finishing off whatever was in their cooler. As long as they pick up their trash, no problem.
