Incrementa la OcupaZIHón
Another cloudy morning gave folks time to do morning chores before the sun came out and things got hot. The breeze was off and on today. By evening time there was a warm breeze coming from the hills, but it was better than nothing. No real rain in the forecast until the middle of the coming week thanks to a tropical system forming up to our south. The water in the bay continues warming up, averaging around 31.1°C. The surges of current in Laguna Las Salinas have apparently continued albeit with much less intensity, but the water from the lagoon emptying out so much has muddied up the region of the bay around the pier and Playa Principal, and folks probably shouldn't be swimming there for a few days.
The beaches were full again today. Lots of large families everywhere. Las Gatas was especially busy. We were surprised there were no events anywhere along the waterfront this evening, but the waterfront was full just after sunset when we walked along it, as were several of its restaurants. Local merchants were enjoying some sales, mostly of trinkets and souvenirs. Wandering vendors continue having a rough time.
I was surprised this morning to see bus passengers with all their suitcases, coolers, and warm clothing at Plaza Kioto this morning. Apparently they'd been dropped off there. I wasn't sure if they were waiting for someone or simply pausing before continuing to their destination. They took over as much of the public furniture as possible put there by the municipal government and lined up most of their stuff along the wall of the canal. Some of the vagabonds and drunks who sleep there had to make room and share. It was a somewhat comical scene like out of a Mexican Normal Rockwell painting. Especially with folks lining up to take a photo at the mock phone booth.
