Storms danced by off our coast during the night, but no rain fell in downtown Zihuatanejo. Nevertheless, the light show was still cool. They keep missing us by this much.
:pinch:

Once the sun came out, things warmed up fast, but light gusts of breeze made it more tolerable than Monday. A shame there were so few people on the beach enjoying a perfect beach day.

Local merchants and businesses are complaining about the lack of visitors and the slow sales. We're receiving too many visitors without the necessary purchasing power we need to sustain our community. This is a recurring complaint that continues worsening year after year, but the mayor's only response is the same old same old: let's pour more cement! Oh, all the tourist bigwigs will promise new advertising campaigns that never seem to materialize and new strategies that never seem to work, meanwhile the problem of the hotels in the Zona Hotelera I in Ixtapa offering exclusively All-Included packages and nothing else continues. And of course, the hotels only look out for themselves. They don't care if they're killing the local shopping centers and restaurants in Ixtapa. It's a matter the municipal government could solve if it wanted to. I'm confident I could if I were in their position.

I almost feel guilty enjoying my life so much and feeling like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico. We have family visiting, a niece from the outskirts of Mexico City, and for breakfast she made the best Pan Francés I've had in a long time, not since her father visited and made it for us years back. We enjoy having our family members here. We all mesh together so well and are reminded of the strength in our unity. We tend to spoil each other when we can anyways, so having another family member to spoil and be spoiled by only makes our lives that much more enjoyable.

[image]Villas Los Arcos at Playa La Ropa is a wonderful lodging I truly enjoy being able to recommend. As if La Ropa isn't beautiful enough, this exquisitely designed and decorated lodging is a place one feels instantly at home in. I wish visitors would simply spend more time in lodgings like this instead of cutting down more of our trees and clearing more land to build more vacation and retirement homes.
