Viene la Tormenta Tropical Ivo de ViZIHta
Another absolutely picture-postcard-perfect day in Zihuatanejo! But during the entire morning we hardly saw anyone from out of town. The streets were mostly empty, and there were plenty of parking spaces. Local restaurants serving breakfast looked desperate for customers. We were the only table at Los Braseros, one of the few air-conditioned restaurants downtown. Shortly after noon the downtown beach started to fill up, but my wife and our niece pretty much had Playa Principal to themselves during the morning, as you can see in today's photo below. Lucky for them, but the summer vacation season needs to be much busier than this.
We got a little sprinkle in the late afternoon. And it looks like we have a tropical storm on the way named Ivo. Any minute now it should start raining, and it could be intense, judging from the current satellite image. It would be a shame if it passed us by without raining, because it doesn't look like there's any more rain in the forecast for another week or so after this storm passes by.
The Danzón dancers graced us with their music and dancing this Wednesday evening in Plaza del Artista, but not many spectators showed up. Just a few visitors that were walking by stopped to watch, some danced their own style, ignoring the whole point of the event, but no big deal. Their smiling faces made up for it.
No local lodging better represents the true magic of Zihuatanejo than the Hotel Catalina at Playa La Ropa. An oasis in a garden of paradise. Comfortable rooms with privileged views, delicious food at their restaurant, extremely warm and friendly staff, and the truest ambiance of old Zihuatanejo.

Aunque el clima estaba perfecto, mi sobrina y mi esposa fueron las únicas personas disfrutando de Playa Municipal por gran parte de la mañana hoy en Zihuatanejo.
