We awoke to a lovely Thursday morning with mild temperatures. It looked like it was going to rain, but it never did. The sun eventually came out and it was a lovely beach day for visiting vacationers. Later in the afternoon it again looked like a storm was going to roll over the bay, as you can see in today's photo, but again it never did. After sunset it barely sprinkled for a few minutes, but not enough to get anyone wet. Locals and visitors were out enjoying the fresh evening air without a care for the weather. Just another picture-postcard-perfect day in paradise.

Sales remain slow. The visitors who arrive by bus don't spend much money, and many of those who arrive by car don't either. The jury's still out on whether the flights from Morelia are having a local impact. If they're staying at All-Included hotels in Ixtapa, than there will be no discernable positive impact for the community.

A heads up that Panadería La Boquita is on vacation. We're going through withdrawal, but we'll get by until their return with the delicious pan dulce from other neighborhood bakeries.

We're expecting a mar de fondo event sometime next Sunday with waves of 2 to 2.6 meters and riptides. So be careful swimming at beaches along the open ocean. It will likely affect boat traffic at Playa Linda and cause the pier to Isla Ixtapa to have to close during Monday and Tuesday. Stay alert!
