IniZIHa Nueva Temporada
La Canícula officially ends this Friday, the 15th. Relatively speaking it seemed to be one of the mildest and wettest in memory. Today was one of those picture-postcard-perfect days vacationers dream about. But then, practically every day here is perfect. Now we expect the rains to intensify and the tropical storms to become more frequent. Oh boy! Fortunately, none are predicted for at least the next week.
A sea turtle managed to nest with a crowd looking on late last night in front of Plaza del Artista. Unfortunately her eggs were removed to Playa La Ropa, so her offspring won't return to our Playa Principal to lay their eggs as they would if they hatched here. Not very cool to remove the eggs to another beach entirely.
Remember, the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" happens every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande (that just celebrated its 32nd anniversary) in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay. Besides wonderful handcrafts, they feature a variety of homegrown produce, fresh foods including pastries, breads and tamales, fresh coffee, juices and mezcal.

Anoche una tortuga puso su nido aquí, pero ya casi no se nota. Solo parece otro día perfecto en el paraíso.
