Unfortunately if you can’t get the majority of India to stop defacating outside and china to get on board with western protocols nothing North America adopts will make a difference.

The data centers that are coming onboard with no end in site, which is nowhere near peaking are going to use so much coal just to keep states from blacking out. Predictions are it's inevitable to happen. Nuclear is the only option, renewable will never cut it. They are already talking petawatts and multiple grids are mandatory.
