The progressives now say that sea level rising by up to 2 feet over the next 100 years is a catastrophe but sea level was over 100 feet lower just 15,000 years ago. I hope that the voices of moderation will win out.

You use the term "progressive" pejoratively. Obviously in your opinion, the progressives are to be trivialized. However, it is not the progressives who are predicting a rise of 2 feet. The predictions are coming from the scientists who have dedicated their lives to research and reporting the truth as best they can, however imperfectly. You know, those same individuals who are denigrated by the "regressives" for being woke, DEI LIBERALS. The same folks who brought the world several Covid vaccines in six months while the regressives were denying that Covid existed but interestingly and alarmingly were taking horse parasite drugs to protect against the disease they didn't believe existed.

For some areas, the 2-foot rise could happen much sooner than 100 years from now. A simple Internet search will yield that this is going to be a serious issue. Many coastal cities will be inundated. Many more will experience constant flooding. Millions of people will be affected. As mentioned by others, taking action now is imperative. Sadly, the regressives will say and do whatever they can to bring about the tragic consequences of climate change, if only to "own the libs." As Kurt Vonnegut would say, "So it goes." Translation: We are screwed. Apologies to future generations.
