I dropped the ball and forgot to announce here the Rally Canino event this Sunday morning at Plaza Kioto. A run for a good cause, though most folks we saw were walking, many carrying their smaller dogs. We walked right through it this morning with our older adopted dog, and it was a great atmosphere. Thanks to the municipal government for sponsoring it. Now if only they'd remove the stupid Blue Flag rules from several popular local beaches. They benefit no one, and attract no additional visitors, but they do keep away people who travel with their pets; an increasing number of travelers.

Our temperatures remained fairly mild today even though the overnight lows aren't as lows as they were recently. A nice breeze kept folks comfortable almost anywhere they were. The sea is so calm the waves have barely been reaching a half meter high outside the bay. Frustrating for surfers, even at the best spots. The ocean temp is now at 28.7°C. Perfect for swimmers.

Christmas cheer is trying to take hold around here in spite of some unfortunate local events. Locals are optimistic about the upcoming vacation season. While sales haven't been great for local merchants, they are steadily improving week by week. We get days of mostly bus visitors, and others of mostly visitors who flew here from somewhere, including other parts of Mexico. It's the visitors by air who are making a difference, followed by the folks who drive here, and the bus visitors last. But even the least affluent visitors are welcome here, and we are grateful for them.

En el lado derecho se ve la salida de unas lanchas para un torneo de la pesca deportiva durante un amanecer colorido en la bahía de Zihuatanejo. Apenas llegué a mi azotea a tiempo para sacar la foto.
