It must've gotten to around 20°C this morning. Brrrrr! I imagined I could almost see my breath! And I remembered I don't even own a sweater! ;-)

Felt wonderful!

The ocean continues to be as calm as glass. No waves. And just a slight breeze, mostly mid-afternoon. Some gusts reached 19 km/h. Beachgoers loved every puff.

This is the weekend the massive arrivals begin in earnest by vacationers arriving from the inland cities and towns. We love having them here, and we hope our visitors from abroad will make some new friends and enjoy the festive atmosphere. This year there appear to be more people from abroad here than is usual for this season. Usually most foreigners disappear for the Christmas holidays, but they are still here filling the downtown waterfront restaurants, and they were enjoying the events at the Cancha Municipal and the pier tonight shoulder to shoulder with locals and nationals on vacation. Very good to see!

Buses are again being allowed to use the empty lot near Plaza Kioto. Good job by the ayuntamiento arranging this. Kudos.

This Saturday night is the big Christmas parade downtown starting at 7PM, going from 5 de Mayo to Plaza Kioto. It'll be LOUD and colorful. Glad I've got full ear-covering noise-cancellation headphones. I can only take so much Mariah Carey and all the Christmas songs repeated over and over, but I still have a front row seat. B-)

Don't forget to visit "Las Iguanas Bazar" in La Ropa next to Casa Tucanes this Saturday and Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. where you'll find a fun time, the wonderful works of local artisans and merchants, and lots of sustainable products.

Also, the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" happens every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay. Besides wonderful handcrafts, they feature a variety of homegrown produce, fresh foods including pastries, breads and tamales, fresh coffee, juices and mezcal.
