I don't believe this was recently........................Yes, there have been reports of fatal shark attacks involving tourists, including an American teenager from Maryland in late 2023 near Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Mexico, who died from injuries sustained while spear fishing, highlighting the risk of shark encounters, especially with Bull Sharks, in the area, despite previous years of relative calm.
