Though the official low temperature was 20°C this Wednesday morning, it felt a bit warmer. There was a good breeze most of the day which made the temperature seem mild even though it reached a summertime-like high of 33°C. The ocean water remains quite comfortable at around 27.3°C. Surfers at least have some small but surfable waves to look forward to, and surf conditions are expected to improve early next week.

The Danzón in Plaza del Artista this Wednesday evening was quite pleasant. A small crowd showed up, and even my Lupita showed her moves. ¡Qué curvas tan peligrosas y yo sin frenos!

Except for La Porteña restaurant, things were slow along the downtown waterfront this evening. Not many people out, but most of the folks who were at the waterfront restaurants were extranjeros. Each time we've passed the new restaurant El Dani it's been empty. They don't seem to know how to take advantage to recover the former Daniel's crowd. A shame to see that market lost. That was always such a nice part of the evening waterfront scene.

Every day I have to give thanks for the very fortunate life we have here, especially to be able to live where we do. Within walking distance of everything we need. No car to worry about. In the middle of a region that often seems forgotten by the rest of the world, which is just fine with us. Our food is fresh and naturally healthy. Many of our neighbors are family or life-long friends, which is kind of the same thing. No commute to work! Lucky us! Why wouldn't I feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico?

Speaking of restaurants, if you're a fan of mouth-watering recipes, one of the best reasons for visiting Ixtapa is to go to Deborah's Restaurant. Whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, everything we've ever eaten there has been prepared to perfection and the service has always been excellent. Deborah also makes some of the best desserts around, so save room when you go.
