The Golden Rule

As the saying goes,

“They who have the gold, make the rules.”

As we see nearby, those who get into power can use it for the collective benefit or they can use it for personal enrichment. I recall an expression from the 1980s during the PRI hegemony.

“If you show me a politician who doesn’t become rich while in office, I’ll show you a poor politician.”

It seems that that is becoming the norm some places. And in some places where you would not have expected it 10+ years ago.
