Formula 1, Tour de France, fresh fruit, frijoles, huevos, fresh tortillas, and fresh locally-grown coffee for el desayuno. Tequila, beer, pfffft, SailGP, and pizza for la comida. Looking forward to some fútbol and kisses with my cena. This is what a blissful Sunday in paradise feels like. B-)

The overnight rain that was forecasted didn't show up. The heat and humidity showed up, though. In full force. But the waves died down instead of picking up as they'd been forecast to do, at least in our region. The pier at Playa Linda opened back up today, though frankly it is NOT structurally sound. But our local government is all about appearances over substance.

This afternoon in Ixtapa a charter bus driver had a seizure at the wheel, ran over the grass divider and crashed into a tree in front of Ixtapa's Merza parking lot. I believe there was only one minor injury, though I've no idea about the condition of the bus driver.

The tourist season so far has been mostly a disappointment for local businesses. Things were much slower this Sunday than previous days. Most restaurants along the downtown waterfront sit empty after sunset, except La Porteña. Ixtapa's shopping district is the same or worse.

One of the nicest lodgings at Troncones that seems to have something for everyone is Casa de La Sirena. A luxurious private beachfront compound in Troncones featuring a 3-bedroom villa with a private pool, three 1-bedroom MiniVillas, and two side-by-side 2-story 1-bedroom bungalows that share a pool.
