Rain!!!

Even though it wasn't really predicted, it rained last night!!! Near the dolphins on la ropa we got 7 cm of rain, that is 2.7 inches!!! Really HARD, but no wind, just straight up and down pouring rain.

Maybe the waterfall in Ixtapa will go off!!!

My iPhone app predicted it, though I remained skeptical even after hearing thunder. A nice surprise that's expected to last a couple of days. It looks like the eggheads at Guerrero's Protección Civil were right, and La Canícula is over. A lot of campesinos sure need the rain to salvage what they can of their corn crops.

My heart goes out to the folks at the Mercado who have to keep their wares in the street while the "remodeling" sloooooooowly continues. There was some flooding downtown last night, but the storm ended just in time before it got serious.
