I don't have a kindle reader though, but that must of been a great adventure only many can dream of. Does it come in pdf format?

Curious to know how you survived, challenges up against, etc... I suspect they would kick someone out of the country now a days if they tried to do that. I actually have a buddy that does that, moves from country to country (vietname, chile ec..) they kick him out he goes back to canada then ventures off again (he can't stand cold canadian winters) No money no real house just takes jobs teaching english, but has no real education (grade 10 as he dropped out).
Amazing adventures and stories to write about.
Not many would do that now a days I suspect we love our creature comforts.

Would have loved to do something like that. You owned the sail, boat and the waters to which you sailed.
Most days most people someone else owns the boat, sails and directs the winds to which many sail upon.

curious to know what Zihua and ixapa was like back in the 80s etc.. with the corrupt cops and gangs etc... with https://partenon.zihuatanejodeazueta.gob.mx/history/ up and running. Must of been wild times.
Now everything seems to be hidden behind white suits and political clout etc...

if I were to do the whole thing over again I would do this, and I've met young 20 somethings who have done that. As they hitch hiked throughout central america.

The final scene from Shawshank was filmed at Sandy Point in Frederiksted, St. Croix, USVI where I lived back in the early 70's. I'm probably the only person here who has lived in both places.

The Partenón was built by El Negro Durazo, a corrupt chief of a secret police force under a PRI government who later went to jail, who personally threatened my wife's family in order to steal their land at La Ropa next to his own property. It's now considered a double monument to the corruption of the PRI political party since millions of pesos were spent to "remodel" it by our former PRI mayor who owns a cement company.

The 80's and 90's were Zihuatanejo's golden age when we still had a healthy tourism economy, green hills protected from development, regular arrival of cruise ships, and more prosperity in general than we enjoy today. Since then, corrupt and inept municipal governments have undone much of what had been achieved including the loss of our ecological zones, our previously protected and undeveloped hillsides surrounding Zihuatanejo Bay. And they've promoted the kind of mass tourism that has caused more poverty than prosperity.
