ixtapa and zihua must of seen it all from boom times of the 80s to now more mellow more mature... grew up out of the chaos and corruption (probably some still exists? but not as prominent more under the covers now?)

I heard they may be investing some money into modernizing ixtapa ? rebuilding some of the older run down buildings etc...

Love ixtapa, its a great place to be. Great people, great beaches, great food, ... love that bike path that goes from one end to the other its fabulous and hard to find in other mexican towns/cities. Personally, I think ixtapa and zihua are perfect just the way they are. Hard to find other places like it.

hopefully it never becomes like other big box store areas like los cabos, PVR etc... way too busy those places are I might as well just go to a big box store.

there is that quaint vibrant taste to ixtapa and zihua. Just small enough to enjoy yet large enough to keep one busy if they so choose.
