Pier concrete ramp

Hey Rob and Others Local, when do they plan on having it all finished?? Before the winter season of tourists coming to the area??

That's probably the plan, but their track record leads me to believe otherwise, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it were still a construction zone in December.

Also did they tear down the old Visitors center that is used for registration and video viewing during the fishing tournaments?? If it's not completed, how do they expect to get fish from the loading/unloading areas to where ever they will do things, have the big party and ceremony??? Out in the parking lot at the left end??

Yes, they tore it down, and they plan to build a 2-story glass-walled building there with a rooftop garden, and probably with a concession for a food or coffee vendor. There doesn't appear to be any loading area or ramp for the fish like there used to be. It's all rocks now around the entire pier entrance area. There's not near as much space as there used to be for the party and ceremony, which was originally the excuse for tearing up the pier entrance. The parking area is also currently torn up for no reason except to make more money pouring more cement. The young ecological reporter who was tortured and murdered surmised that the parking area will now be full of concessions paying rents to the mayor, similar to what happened at Plaza del Pescador in front of La Porteña Restaurant that also blocked everyone's views of the bay. I doubt the parking area will be as large an area as it used to be. It's all a big FUBAR at this point.

If it's still a big mess, I have no plans on coming over and spending the $$$$$ to be in the event even though me and the crew Won it all last year. Horrible what they are doing and the $$$$ spent and to see your posts that the husband is going to run again for Mayor, shows me everything I need to know. Siempre ZIH!!!

I hear you. They're certainly killing many of Zihuatanejo's attractions and selling points just so they can pour more cement. They have a lot of votes to buy. Lots of locals expect the current mayor, the wife, to run for governor. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. She's quite ambitious, and she was campaigning in Acapulco a couple of days ago.
