Una LluviaZIHta Inesperada
Much to our surprise, we had a little rain sometime during the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Not much, but it smelled great and washed some of the dust away and made the morning temperature feel quite refreshing. And rain remains in the forecast with a good chance for later this week, maybe Thursday.
As I suspected would happen, the walkway installed for the VIPs to reach the pier during the visit of the tall ship ARM Cuauhtémoc BE-1 was unceremoniously removed for us normal folks and our visitors. Apparently we are undeserving. And of course, the pier remains without lighting after dark even though countless decorations set up by the municipal government for Día de Muertos manage to have plenty of lighting no matter where they're located. Priorities.
High tides and large swells were affecting the boat landings at Zihuatanejo's municipal pier. I imagine it made the day difficult at the other piers as well, but as far as I know they were still using the pier at Playa Linda today, in spite of its unsafe condition.
There were quite a few extranjeros to be seen in some of the downtown restaurants, especially on Calle Agustín Ramírez. Otherwise, our tourism seems much slower today than previous days. A few autobuseros going to and from Playa Las Gatas, but not much else. Even though Ixtapa's hotels seem to do a decent business, we never see most of their tourists.
Deborah's Restaurant is currently accepting reservations for Thanksgiving. I highly recommend her turkey dinners with ALL the fixings and her indescribably delicious pumpkin pie for dessert.

Tucked away amid the palm trees of La Ropa in Zihuatanejo within easy walking distance of the beach is Arecas Suites. A small affordable and comfortable hotel located in "the grove" near the beach. Features 8 air-conditioned suites with kitchenettes, a pool and plenty of tranquility. (click to enlarge image)

La marea alta tiene sumergidos y casi inútiles los embarcaderos en el muelle municipal de Zihuatanejo.
