Shore Fishing Questions

Arriving in Zihuatanejo 1/13/2014 and wondering…

I am from the midwest (u.s.) I have lots of freshwater background very little ocean shore fishing experience. I am planning to fish to pass time. I am hoping for some action barracuda would be fun but I'm open to anything and wouldn't mind a meal or 2. I have a car and i'm wondering best locations and beaches within 20 minutes north and south of ZIH. Also looking for lure, bait ideas. I have packed a few spoons a few stick baits (rapala) , some set ups for bottom fishing, and a friend suggested berkley gulp 3 inch shrimp for casting with a jig. Hope that wasn't BS because they were $$$.
I have a 6 ft spincasting rig with 15lb braided line. Also many 12 inch steel leads.
