Bird Watching

Two years ago I saw an owl along that road, at dawn, just a hundred yards or so after heading up from the La Ropa road. Saw some hawks or vultures, too, but was unsure of what species. These two hawks were flying between trees back and forth across the steep ravine that goes down to a little pocket beach (Playa Manzanillo?) on the ocean side, off the dirt road at the top. No book along to help me with ID.
