Bus from Zihua to PVC

I am not one to scream warnings of danger everywhere; we have traveled in our motorhome through most Mexican states over the last 12 years, and the Michoacan coast at least one direction or the other almost every year.

This year was different. A week ago today we were hijacked at gunpoint (small hand gun) and the Jeep stolen. They did NOT enter the motorhome nor did they steal our cash or anything else--except a camera they spotted. We were not assaulted or injured physically. This was a little north of Caleta de Campos near Kilometer marker 79. We are sure that they just wanted the flashy 4 door Jeep, which is what the man was saying.

We have not yet recovered the Jeep. If they do and we have to return to retrieve it I would not take the coast road but would go via Guadalajara, or fly.

The 200 is very sparsely traveled, more so than in previous years I think. Traveling by bus, you would be in different circumstances than us, but after our experience last week we would avoid the Michoacan section of the coast.

Here is a link to our blog page describing the incident. http://jacksonsjourneys.blogspot.com
