In his studio there were 3 different easels set up and she told us he would do 3 different scenes and sizes at the same time when he was in his groove. We were taken down stairs to her studio where she did hand made purses and was getting ready for a show in Morelia a day after we took our bus to "Z"- we would have loved to have gone for she invited us. I do not know how many villages we visited with Jesus(he was friends of the artist) and new a lot of the artist in the villages and took us to their home/studio on the back streets of the villages and you had to know where they were for the studios were not on the main roads. We will never for get those 2 days. We skipped Patzcuaro because we spent 3 nights and 2 full days touring the villages around the lake- there again you need a guide to take you to the studio of the artisan in the villages. What is unique of the area is each little village is none for something- all goes back to the early time of the Spaniards when the head of the Church taught each village a trade to be able to trade between villages and not compete with each other and you will see statues all over dedicated to him and there is a guide book about going to each village and what the village is known for.
