Troncones

Getting from Zihua or Ixtapa to Troncones, you have two options. A cab or the bus. For a cab expect to pay around 450 to 500 pesos I believe. The bus is considerably cheaper but harder to do as you would have to catch it at MX 200 the old road in Ixtapa or in Zihua at various locations. If your bringing luggage I wouldn't do it personally. Once at Troncones you would have to take a Kombi into town to your destination.

As far as where to stay, it depends on your comfort level and what you want from your stay. Troncones has no night life and most places close by 10PM so no need to worry about that.

Mi Casa is very close to the center of town. On the beach, but the beach can be treacherous for swimming. It tends to get VERY busy around there with loads of tour buses and people, especially on the weekends or Mexican holidays.

I would be remiss if I didn't highly recommend The Inn at Manzanillo Bay. Gorgeous property on Manzanillo Bay, which is often the most swimmable beach out here and a surf break right out front. Very quiet and laid back. A great restaurant on site and an awesome General Manager...;-)
