I love z for the people! I also truly cherish the friends i have made there and that which is traditional, food, the old markets, the old time wandering musicians....but i have very limited funds and must keep my trip , if i can save enough to take one , to a tight budget and more importantly I love to swim. My growing sense is that the bay is Z is just getting too polluted and my body doesn't feel inclined to spending a lot of time in the water there anymore. Last year i bused to Barra where at least with open ocean and the stronger current it seems cleaner but it was a little too rough to actually swim much. So sadly I am feeling more inclined to find another place to travel to where the water is cleaner! It breaks my heart because in every other way Z has captured my heart. I wish so badly that it could be cleaner and i would return in a heartbeat. Others i know who have been coming to Z and now going elsewhere are telling me the exact same thing.
