La Ropa Road - additional roadworks

There is a concreting gang doing additional pothole repairs to parts of La Ropa road, between Kau-Kan and the Dolphins statue. Traffic is moving OK but be prepared for some delays if travelling to the south end of La Ropa beach.

Maybe it was a recent story in a local paper (Diario ABC de Zihuatanejo), critical of the condition of local roads just before the Christmas rush, that got the municipal roads department off its collective backside. It's a shame they waited until 29 December, but better late than never, eh?

"Municipal roads department"? Goodness gracious that's certainly the best laugh I've had for a while! Imagine! A "roads department"! IF ONLY THERE WERE SUCH A THING. But all roads are built under contract using the good'ol boy kickback scheme. The La Ropa road project has nothing at all to do with the municipal government. It's all state government just like the Paseo Las Salinas that sat there for 9 months with no work and no progress after it was discovered the plans forgot to include drainage. Work finally continued but still without any plans for drainage on that road where drainage is essential.

And why are they doing "pothole repairs" if they're supposed to be repaving that entire section of road? :wtf:
