San Miguel is really terrific! 17th century I believe---everything behind big carved doors, cobblestone streets. Sat & Sun they had charity tours art college, artists homes, etc. Mountain town, no beaches. If you go, fly into Leon--closer than Mexico City.
You can even arrange on line for Van to pick you up at airport & take you to SM--about an 1/12 hr away. Many expatriots live there.
