Sotovento?
I stayed at Sotavento for my first 8 years in Z, probably on the same floor (the one right above the dining room). Maybe our paths even crossed, although there were seldom more than a couple of people on the floor to share that great terrace. It was all so wonderfully laid back. Burned into my memory were the Canadian mother and daughter duo who would get outrageously drunk and stand on the terrace every night at midnight and sing "O Canada." I remember one guy from Michigan told me, "It's funky, but God help me, I love it." So true. Sad to see it unused and in such rough shape. For the last several years, beach talk was that the new owners went bankrupt, but last year I heard it wasn't the developers that went broke, it was the construction company they'd hired to do the job and that the developers were planning to go ahead with the project. Here's hoping.
