where to buy find packing materials?

I am guessing your trying to package it up for them to mail when they arrive home.

Might not be the best idea if it is put in checked luggage customs can, may, and will open it.

Ditto for the carry-ons as well.

Make a nice mailing label and have your friend box it when he gets home.
